Samsungs Galaxy S III Display Vs iPhone 5 Display

Undoubtedly, Apple and its products stand out in the technology market, especially when it comes to iPhone 5 that is relatively thinner as compared to its predecessor. While majority may agree that it is a crowd puller, there are some who think about it otherwise. Many have the opinion that it is Samsung Galaxy S III that has a better display including the industry experts who believe it. Therefore, what is it that makes Galaxy S III better in display when compared to iPhone 5, let us find out.

Display and measurement

It seems that Galaxy S III has a better and thinner screen that is capable of providing better color than its arch-rival.

When it comes to iPhone 5 the display of 4 inches is a marked improvement as compared to 4S screen but Samsung still is more confident about the screen specs.

Improvements made by Apple in its iPhone 5 are indicative of including such features that fetch significant vote of approval and profit in the technology market. This includes impressing its customers with good customer experience rather than choosing to go with providing better technology enthusiasts.

If we look at the display in the products provided by Samsung and Apple there are however some mild differences. iPhone 5 has a display of 1.5 mm thick (1/16th of an inch) its arch rival Samsung Galaxy S III has a thickness of 1.1 mm that is 3/64 of an inch. Another thing to notice is that 72% of colors are displayed in iPhone 5 while Samsung Galaxy S III is capable of going over the limit and providing 100% colors. This comes from the measuring standards by National Television System Committee (NTSC).

When it comes to measuring thickness of these two devices iPhone 5 is thinner by a millimeter than Galaxy S III. Nevertheless, Samsung seems to have a better battery as compared to iPhone, which could be the reason for its bulk.

Screen Technology

The technology used by Apple in its screen display does not comprise of layers in its touch panel, this makes the device relatively thinner by 18%. The introduction of a technology called the in-cell is what makes it thinner and makes the display more brighter. Additionally the device is relatively refraction free and anti-glare making it more comfortable for content display.

When it comes to Galaxy S III the technology that is used behind the construction used behind its display is that of AMOLED display (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode), however the technology is not capable of a backlight. Nevertheless, this does makes it a power efficient product.

Conclusion

In conclusion to what has been said above there are some user reviews that indicate that the color tone projected on the screen of Galaxy S III seem oversaturated and at time unrealistic. While there are others who are not so great fan of Apple and would rather go for Galaxy S III.

Overall the conclusion is that whether you choose iPhone5 or Galaxy S III it is the personal experience and the opinion of the user that matters most.

Apple iPhone 5 Review and Features

The iPhone 5 is almost the same smartphone as the earlier iPhone 4s. It is thinner with a faster processor! This iconic phone just got a little better, its much more refined due to the trending larger front screen and thinner profile. As an iPhone user I was curious to see how the new iPhone 5 measured up to the older version. How can this new generation iPhone become even better and faster in only a short period of time? Can the fine people at Apple create something visionary or will they continue to bring us the same old thing dressed up with a few extra features? This was a huge challenge to conquer. The iPhone 5 is a much better phone from the bottom upwards. Instead of reviewing this new iPhone model I think it makes sense to give you my honest opinion from an actual customer.

First of all the one thing you will notice right away is how light the phone is. Almost 20% lighter with a much larger surface area, which makes it feel even more lighter. This iPhone 5 doesn't feel cheap at all it takes us back to the original days of the metal back. It has changed in a number of ways such as screen size, layout of the charging connector, distance between the ear piece and display at the bottom. Instead of a glass back it is now made up of aluminum, just like the mac pro! It is much more solid and you can feel the quality of craftmanship built into this devise.

The headphone jack used to be on top of the iPhone but in the new iPhone 5 it is moved to the bottom. I'm not sure if that actually made sense because now if you place the phone on a cup holder in the car it will have to be upside down but as you pick it up it will be easier to use right away. The new configuration had something to do more with the actual internal parts and how they fit the previous design. Apple was able to make this new model thinner just by moving this accessory. Another major change is the new connector. It's called the lightning and it's very small and reversible. It is more solid and won't break as often. These two changes enabled Apple to make the iPhone 5 thinner.

An adapter is available from Apple to add to make your existing cable into an extension to fit the new iPhone 5. They cost $30 and are available soon.

The last changes are the new nano sim card slot, that introduces a new sim card again. Upgraded speakers and microphones are added to the changes as well. Crystal clear speakers are clear and undistorted. They have 3 microphones to help with video recording and noise cancellation.

As far as I'm concerned, this new iPhone 5 is almost twice as fast as its previous models and it the difference is immediate and pronounced. Using the web it launches instantly, saving pictures are instantaneous as well, this adds to an overall better experience. A new LTE network adds to the speed of the new iPhone 5. Panoramic photos can be taken now and a better motion stabilizer when taking 1080p video.

This new iPhone is more than just numbers and specifications, it is everything that embodies the Apple brand. It represents the best of the best in features and materials which justifies it's top place as the leader in the new generation of smartphones.

Is Buying a Used iPhone Worth It?

The iPhone is one of the most popular phones around the globe, and is a huge attraction for people on the go. The iPhone is one smart gadget because it can be used for many different tasks such as games, music, internet and other utilities.

True, the features are impressive, but when combined with the costs, it may not be a feasible option. Many other manufacturers are launching similar variants at lower prices. You can buy one of these but they don't belong to Apple so it just would not be the same. You can also forget about buying a smart phone altogether.

There is one more option that you can avail. Consider buying a used Apple iPhone 3GS or some other model because this will save quite a lot of money. However, you have to figure out if the tradeoffs are worth it or not. So before buying a used Apple iPhone 3GS or a newer model, the following points must be taken into account.

Battery
However good the battery life may be, it always decreases with time. A used iPhone will always have a shorter life than compared to a brand new one. The downside is that the battery cannot be replaced. If your chosen iPhone has not been used much, the battery life should suffice but if it is over a year old, then think again.

Screen
When buying a used Apple iPhone 3GS or another model, check out the screen thoroughly especially if it isn't covered with a screen protector. Though scratches are normal on other mobile phones, they are not acceptable on an iPhone screen. This is because the interface is touch. Moreover, the use of the 3.5 inches screen to control media tasks is one of the major reasons the iPhone gained popularity. So if the screen is damaged, there would be no charm in using an iPhone.

Capacity
Used models are available at much lower prices but the capacity is also decreased considerably. Older phones had 4 GB of storage whereas new phones have as much as 64 GB. The iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 offer up to 32 GB but this may not be enough for some of you.

Older models offer only 4 GB, 8 GB or 16 GB. This will especially affect you if you are an avid music fan, and want to purchase an iPhone because of the iTunes library. Music tracks take up quite a lot of space but other common applications take around 50 MB. Therefore, decide your needs before buying a used Apple iPhone 3GS or an older model.

Features
Early iPhone models do not have all the features of new models. The high resolution screen, speedy 3G communication, upgraded camera, video recording options, GPS and VoiceControl are all absent in older iPhones. So you should be fine with not having the latest technology at your hands when buying a used Apple iPhone 3GS or a previous model. However, if you are thinking of buying a used Apple iPhone 4 or a newer model, then this is not an issue.

How to Fix a Broken Screen on an iPhone 3GS

Cover the Screen
The first thing you should do in case of a broken iPhone 3GS screen is to cover it with a scratch resistant film, such as the ScratchStopper for Artwizz which is specifically designed for iOS apps. This will prevent the screen from further damage as well as help you to avoid any contact with the broken glass.

Get the Parts
You will need a new screen with adhesive to fix it in place. Buy the iPhone 3G Digitizer and front glass that comes with an adhesive kit. Purchase this yourself from a repair store instead of ordering via phone or the internet.

Ordering will cost you about $119 on these materials where as purchasing from a physical outlet costs almost half of this amount. Considering that official iOS repair will cost you $199, it will be better for you to avoid ordering to make substantial savings, otherwise get it repaired from the App Store itself.

You will also need to something to open your iPhone 3GS, such as a case opener. Finally, you need a screwdriver with a fine point to open the tiny screws. A number 0000 Philips head is preferable for this purpose.

Note: Since you are working with small tools on a small machine, you need to be a slow as possible in your working in order to accomplish the task without any complications.

Unbolt the Casing
Turn off the iPhone 3GS and remove the SIM card. Now remove the 2 screws on the bottom. This will take some effort and you will also need a tool to separate the metal frame. When pulling up the screen, be as careful as possible, because it is connected with cables.

Next, remove the base with a small pry tool or your fingers. After removing connectors 1 and 2, use the same tool to flip the handle and remove the ribbon from connector 3.

Take out the LCD Assembly
Open the black tape on the edges of the frame. You can use tweezers to do this. Next, open the 5 screws in front of you, along with the one on top of the assemblage alongside the connecting cables. Be as gentle as possible to remove the LCD, and it will automatically slide out.

Remove the Broken Glass
This is the most complex part. Use any sharp tool to remove the glass as cautiously as possible. Since it is broken, the screen will not come out in a single piece and you will need to remove the remaining pieces as well.

Fix in the New Screen
To bring in the replacement, discard the old adhesive completely and bring in the new double-sided adhesive on the frame. Remove the backing. Insert the new glass, ensuring that the cables pass through the gap in the frame.

Finally, reassemble the phone by simply reversing the steps used to open it. Your iPhone is now restored!

If you're looking for iPhone 3GS Screen Repair or maybe a Used iPhone 3GS OldAppleStore.com is a great place to start!

Apple's iPhone 5 Vs Samsung's Galaxy S3

The stylish and easy to use iPhone 5 and the sensible and advanced Galaxy S3, entered a continuous fight for the title of the best smartphone, since they were first released. Fighting on becoming a success in both sales and engineering excellence, Apple and Samsung strived to offer their customers clearer displays, and an operating system that is going to allow users, to create anything they can imagine.

Specifications

From the side of the wireless technologies, iPhone 5 comes with support for HSPA+, EDGE, LTE and Bluetooth 4.0 among others, and Galaxy S3 with HSPA+21, NFC, EDGE and WiFi Direct. The iPhone has a 4inch Retina display, with a resolution of 1136 x 640, and S3 has a 4.8inch sAMOLED display, with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Both smartphones come with 8MP cameras, featuring pretty much the same 1080p video recording and face recognition features.

A slight difference appears in the battery life, Galaxy being said to provide more than 10 hours of 3G talk time, which is 2 hours more than the 8 hours which iPhone 5 should provide. Another modification we can see in the chip used in both smartphones, the Apple A6 running at 1.3 GHz dual core, and the Samsung using a quad-core 1.4GHz Cortex -A9 processor.

Features

Galaxy S3 has the Smart Stay feature, which knows when the user looks at the phone, saving battery life by turning the display off, the S-Beam, allowing users to put their phones together next to each other to share multimedia files, Best Photo, which automatically selects the best picture out of 8 shot and the Smart Alert, vibrating the phone when the user touches it after a period of time, in order to inform that new calls or messages have been missed.

The iPhone comes with new Siri voice recognition program, AirPlay and AirPrint for wireless connectivity to different devices, the 3D Flyover mode in the Apple Maps and the Panorama view picture.

Accessories

Being one of the biggest companies in the world, Samsung has hundreds of different accessories and devices, which can be connected and ran straight from the use of the Galaxy S3. From a digital pen to advanced headsets and charging docks created by the same company, S3 users have access to a wholestore full of innovative accessories to improve the user experience.

Even if Apple's iPhone 5 comes with the EarPods, which are the new redesigned headphones, as well as with the 8-pin connector, there are a lot of accessories and gadgets that can be connected to the stylish smartphone, such as the Nike+ Armband, Apple TV and many others. You can find a lot of Smartphone reviews online from where you can choose the best phone for you.

Prices

After its release date, the Samsung Galaxy S3 was starting at about $199 for the 16GB version, but because more than 4 months have passed since then, the cheaper version can be bought for only $99 on contract.

The iPhone 5 was just released a couple of weeks ago, and the starting price is at $199 for 16GB.

In my opinion, the winner should be declared iPhone 5, as its versatility and ease of use are unprecedented in any other phone, including the Galaxy S3, which is proving to be a reliable competitor for our winner.
